Momentous Occasion

Julie's hair is finally long enough and thick enough to put in a little pony tail! It's not much, but I was so excited, I had to try! And as usual, I wanted to share! I can finally start using some of the bows I made before she was born (For a while I used them on headbands, but I gave those up for a lost cause long ago... I just wasn't dedicated enough to making Julie keep them on her head) Here's her first ever pony tail, which she wore to church on Sunday: Sorry for the dark photos, but you get the idea...

Z is for Zoo

On Tuesday Julie and I went to the zoo with my sisters for a "sister's outing". It was much more fun than I was anticipating. Don't get me wrong... I was very much looking forward to the sister time, but that last time Arek and I went to the zoo, hardly any of the animals were out and about. This time, however, we saw almost every animal there, and most of them were even awake. Julie's favorite part was when she saw moving water... she didn't quite understand our fascination with the animals. Ah, well... maybe in a year or two. We had a great time, though. Here's some of the photo evidence (thanks to Dani, who had the foresight to bring her camera!)

Demolition Derby

Saturday we went to Julie's and my first ever demolition derby. Even though it POURED while we waited in line to buy tickets, the rain thankfully stopped just as the derby was starting, so it made for a MUDDY field, but we stayed dry :) We were nervous that it would be too loud for Julie but she didn't seem to notice the revving cars... she must get it from Arek! See that gold car on the right? That is the car I was voting for and it won everything... its heat, the final, and bash til the last :) I picked a winner!
